In chapetr 13.3. I used the method suggested in 'Principles of Yacht Design' (2) to achieve a lead distance based on a percentage of the LWL. I also modified this method for a long LWL vessel, i.e. reducing the lead percentage to achieving a similar lead distance.
This method of reducing the lead percentage has been pointed out to me, by my dissertation assesors, as an unnessary modification of the original method.
The original method does not need to be modified because the Center of Lateral Resistance (CLR)
In due course I will be redesigning the effected areas of the boat, keel and rig etc, to achieve the desired lead percenatage, i.e. 5-7% of the LWL, and updating the CAD drawings as necessary.
